Weather study had always been intriguing to Markina Brown and she always wanted to become a TV reporter. She thrived to earn a degree in what she aspired to do and this led her to earn 3 degrees in education.

Markina Brown is an American meteorologist currently residing in Los Angeles to pursue her acting career in Hollywood. As an actress, she is known for Peppermint (2018), Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk (2016) and Cyborgs Universe (2018).

She is a weekend meteorologist at CBS Los Angeles’ KCBS-TV and also works on her acting projects. She was the first African-American female meteorologist in Southern California and the first black female chief meteorologist in Atlanta, Georgia.

She holds the Television Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, the National Council of Negro Women and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

Markina was born in Detroit, Michigan as the only child of her parents but she has not mentioned her age and family anywhere. However, what we know is that she celebrates her birthday on 28th February. She also had once mentioned her sister as Queen Sheena in her Instagram back in 2014.

She is the cousin of Randall Pinkston, who is a former CBS correspondent. Talking about her education, it is a long list, she holds a B.S. degree in Geosciences with a concentration in Meteorology from Mississippi State University. She has also earned a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and Cinematic Arts from Central Michigan University. Moreover, she holds a B.A. degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations.

Markina’s Career At CBS, Does She Still Work There?

Markina worked as a meteorologist for several news organizations such as KPLR-TV(St. Louis, Missouri) and at WSYM(Lansing, Michigan), WBBM-TV(Chicago, Illinois), WOIO/WUAB-TV(Cleveland, Ohio), KTLA-TV(Southern California) before joining CBS46 Atlanta News in October, 2010 as the primary meteorologist.

She worked there for 4 years but voluntarily left the weather forecaster job from Atlanta and shifted to Hollywood (Los Angeles) for pursuing her acting career. But in 2016, she joined the CBS affiliate KCBS-TV in Los Angeles.

Yes!!! She is still in touch with CBS as she is working as a meteorologist for its Los Angeles affiliate till 2018.

Being an extremely private person, Markina has not revealed much about her personal life but from some interviews back in 2008, she was a married woman back then, however, her husband’s identity has not been revealed.

They got married on 17th June 2008 in a candlelight ceremony at the garden of Caesars Palace. The romantic wedding took place on the day of her husband's birthday and their honeymoon destination was Cancun, Mexico.
