In May of the same year, Zonfrillo was announced bankrupt after a creditor’s petition from Martin was thriving in the Federal Magistrates Court. 

In August 2020, The Australian questions were raised regarding Jock’s foundation management. Due to that, Zonfrillo launched a defamation case in the Federal Court of Australia against the Australian.

The case was settled in court, and the outlet also published an apology. A memoir named Last Shot also dragged the late Chef’s name into a scandal. The memoir was released on July 28, 2021, by Simon & Schuster.

Yes, Jock Zonfrillo was once a drug addict, and he had been open about his addiction to the media. Jock had battled with a crippling addiction to heroin which had taken hold of his life by the time when he was 15 years old.

Zonfrillo continued using drugs until he began working as head chef at Restaurant 41 in Sydney. After a nine-year struggle with drug addiction, he stopped using them.
