In March 2024, Investigation Discovery released a four-part docuseries about a specific time in Nickelodeon's history. Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV focused on the rise and semi-fall of Dan Schneider, the man responsible for such hits as The Amanda Show, iCarly, and Zoey 101. For years he was considered their golden boy, until rumors and allegations of toxic workplace abuse caused the network to supposedly sever ties with him in 2018.

During this time, a production assistant named Jason Handy was convicted of one count of lewd acts on a child and one count of distributing sexually explicit material by email. Separately from this, a dialogue coach named Brian Peck who worked on All That and The Amanda Show was convicted of two counts of lewd conduct with a minor. In the Quiet on Set docuseries, actor Drake Bell came forward and revealed he was the child Peck sexually abused. Viewers were moved by his bravery, and were hoping for an update.

Are there going to be more episodes of 'Quiet on Set'?

A fifth episode of Quiet on Set will premiere on Investigation Discovery and Max on April 7, 2024, per The Hollywood Reporter. Titled "Breaking the Silence," it will be hosted by Soledad O’Brien and "promises to go deeper into the toxic and dangerous culture behind the late 1990s and early 2000s kids’ TV series, including allegations of abuse, sexism and racism," per the outlet.

"With Breaking the Silence, we’re digging deeper into the crucial conversations the docuseries ignited and exploring the lingering questions left in their wake to provide further insight from the brave voices who’ve spoken out previously and those who are coming forward again," said Jason Sarlanis, president of TNT, TBS, TruTV, ID & HLN, Linear and Streaming.

Drake Bell, who appeared in Episode 3, will be back for Episode 5, along with other former child stars.

Will there be a Season 2 of 'Quiet on Set'?

So far, there’s no official word about Quiet on Set coming back for another season. But ahead of Episode 5's announcement, when asked about Drake Bell’s interviews filling almost all of Episode 3 while other former child stars got less coverage, co-director Mary Robertson had this to say to The Hollywood Reporter:

“We would be happy to make four more hours on this subject,” Robertson said, explaining that it was important to give the spotlight to those whose experiences had thus far been pushed to the shadows. “There was a shared experience there. And because that experience was shared by many, those who participated, and probably some of those who watch will feel as though it’s validating a certain credibility to those accounts.”

Robertson said that if they had given 45 minutes to each interviewee, they would have ended up with a 12-hour series. “I do think it would be wonderful for a continued exploration,” the co-director added. “We’d love to hear from more people who worked in this ecosystem and would like to share experiences.”
