Nancy initiated her career from KHNL-TV in Honolulu in 1995 and later joined the ABC news after working with various media in 2005. 

During her time at ABC, Nancy covered numerous significant stories such as Hurricane Katrina, Iraq War, and Presidential Election of 2004, Pentagon attack of 11 September 2001 DC- area sniper attacks.

She joined CBS News as a correspondent for the United States Congress in 2007.

In 2014, She was featured with her children in the January issue of a Washington based entertainment magazine, Washingtonian Mom, where she shared the beauty secrets that keep them looking their best.

Nancy Cordes Made A Mistake While Interviewing Trey Gowdy

While hosting Face The Nation, Nancy Cordes welcomed Trey Gowdy as her guest in the show to discuss the new legislation which was related to the mass shooting.

In between the conversation, Trey suggested that a duty to disclose law enforcement should be implemented when a particular person shows violent or concerning behavior. Further, he added, the shooting which took place in Florida did not need a duty to disclose as many people came forward and raised their finger on the FBI.

As Nancy and Trey were having a conversation, she abruptly said, as you are a member of leadership, when will we see a vote on that. But her question backfired her quickly when he responded that he was not a member of leadership. Further to that question, he corrected her saying he would be happy to see a vote of Congress in that matter.
