Rachel Hollis, self-help author of books such as Girl, Wash Your Face, and Girl, Stop Apologizing, has spoken out in the aftermath of the death of her ex-husband Dave Hollis.

The former Disney distribution chief, who led the film studio to become the first to surpass $7 billion in global box office grosses in a single year in 2016, died on Saturday, February 11.

As was previously mentioned, Dave, who passed away on February 11 at the age of 47, was admitted to the hospital for heart-related issues. The cause of death and precise circumstances has not been made public since the tragedy.

The day after it was made public that Dave had died, on February 14, Rachel posted a brief update on her Instagram page about how she and the four kids of the former couple were faring.

The author and motivational speaker wrote in a black square under an Instagram photo with a broken heart emoji that they were heartbroken and had no words to express their feelings. In closing her speech, Rachel urged her listeners to pray for their kids as they face the unimaginable.

Rachel Hollis Divorce History: Why Did They Split?

After 16 years of marriage, Rachel and Dave decided to call it to quit in 2020. They got married in 2004. 

The couple spent the last three years working tirelessly to save their marriage, but Rachel Hollis revealed in a lengthy Instagram post that it is healthier and more respectful of their journey as a married couple.

In a now-deleted Instagram post from nearly a month after the announcement, Dave Hollis addressed the divorce. He claimed Rachel told him that he could only become the man and the woman were each truly meant to be apart when she filed for divorce two days after the couple celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary.

Additionally, Hollis stated that his wife’s post about their memories made him feel ashamed of a future vision that was kept to himself.

According to Netline, Rachel and Dave Hollis allegedly met after the former relocated to Los Angeles. After two years of dating, the couple got hitched in 2004.
