Shirin Rajaee is an Iranian-American  journalist. She currently serves as an Anchor/Reporter at Fox5 D.C. WTTG based in Washington, District of Columbia. Shirin has been working there since 2020. Prior to that, she served as a weekend news anchor and weeknight reporter at KOVR, the CBS affiliate based in Sacramento, California from 2015 to 2020.

Before KOVR, Shirin worked as an Anchor/ Reporter at KEYT NewsChannel 3, KKFX, KCOY Central Coast News in Santa Barbara, California Area from Aug 2011 to Oct 2015. Prior to that, she worked as an Associate Producer/ Assignment Editor for
CNN in Los Angeles from Jan 2008 to Aug 2011. Before joining CNN, Shirin served as an Entertainment Reporter/ Host for PBC Television in Los Angeles, CA.

Before she got there,  Shirin served as the weeknight evening anchor/reporter for KOVR CBS based in Sacramento for four years. While there, she covered state politics and big breaking news stories such as the Northern California wildfires, immigration and terrorism stories, mass shootings in Gilroy and Las Vegas, just to mention but a few. Before joining  CBS,  she was an anchor/reporter for KEYT ABC based in Santa Barbara.

Her favorite person to carry out an exclusive interview with was Oprah. The story that had the biggest impact on her career was the continuous coverage of the controversial police shooting of Stephon Clark in Sacramento for nearly two years. The shooting drew national attention. Shirin is a big foodie and she always looks for a good concert or live music event.
