Keenan Anderson was an African-American whose name came into the media prominence after dying on January 3, 2023. He took his last breath four and a half hours after being restrained and tasered six times by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) member.

For your information, Keenan was restrained after a suspicion of a hit-and-run and driving under the influence after an accident and due to witness testimony of an individual trying to get in their car without their permission.

Following the incident, Police ordered him to sit down, which he initially did, but later ran away on the road. Due to that, police tased him for around 30 seconds and then another five seconds.

Keenan Anderson autopsy result was released on Friday from the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office. Following that, his death cause was also determined.

The autopsy reported that Anderson’s manner of death is said to result from cardiomyopathy and cocaine use. Not to mention, he was one of three following encounters with LAPD officers since the start of 2023, sparking widespread curses.

In January, Anderson was arrested for a felony hit-and-run after causing a traffic mishap and trying to get into another person’s car with permission. The body cam video of a police officer is going viral.

In the tape, Anderson can be seen acting erratic and was hit by a Taser multiple times as officers tried to control him as he ran through traffic. After that, Anderson was taken to the hospital and died hours after interacting with the police.

Keenan Anderson Family Life Explored

Keenan Anderson’s family is still mourning the death of their beloved member, who died in January 2023. Following his demise, his family announced a $50 million damages claim against the city of L.A.

Meanwhile, he was also recognized as the cousin of Patrisse Cullors, an American activist and co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement.

While making the announcement, Patrisse pledged to fight like hell for Keenan to receive justice because “you deserve justice.” Furthermore, she also called for LAPD Chief Michel Moore and the involved officers to resign.

Keenan Anderson was born Keenan Darnell Anderson to his parents. He was raised by his mother, Gabrielle Hansell, and his father, whose name have not been shared with the tabloids.

Reportedly, Anderson was not the only child of his parents as he grew up along with his younger brother named, Christopher Anderson.

Christopher also remembered his brother saying that his biggest inspiration was to go back to school to get his degree. For your information, Anderson was a high school English teacher at the Digital Pioneers Academy based in Washington, D.C.
