Kara Swisher (full name Kara Anne Swisher) is an American journalist. She currently works as an opinion writer for The New York Times. Kara has been described as Silicon Valley’s “most powerful tech journalist”, by Newsweek.  She is also a contributing editor at New York, the co-host of the podcast Pivot, as well as the host of the podcast Sway.

Previously, Kara worked as a writer for The Wall Street Journal as well as  The Washington Post. She is the co-found of Recode, the All Things Digital conference, and also the online publication called All Things D. Kara has been covering the internet since 1994.
