He was raised by his parents and his brothers, Tyler (Megan) Heidtbrink and Brent Nordmeyer, on a farm not far from Malcolm, Nebraska. In the interim, he earned his high school diploma from Malcolm in 1996.
He also attended Nebraska Wesleyan University, where he played baseball for a year before transferring to Milford’s Southeast Community College. He then graduated with a degree in non-destructive testing.
In 2013, he and his brother founded Nordmeyer Brothers Cattle Co., a cattle enterprise. The three children he had, Savannah, Lane, and Tessa Nordmeyer, are also left behind.
