O’Shea Jackson Sr, better known as Ice Cube, is an American rapper inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.

As a solo rap artist and a member of N.W.A. (Niggaz Wit Attitudes) and C.I.A. (Cru’ in Action!), he has released several hits and inspired gangster rap and rap in general. 

Ice Cube is also an acclaimed Actor and filmmaker, starting his film career in the 1990s and best known for Boyz n the Hood, Friday, The Players Club, and buddy cop comedies like 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street, and Ride Along.

Ice Cube is not getting a divorce from his wife, Kimberly Woodruff. Instead, his N.W.A. buddy Dr. Dre recently divorced his wife, Nicole Young, after 26 years of marriage.

Ice Cube married Kimberly on April 26, 1992. Born on September 1970, she is 54 and about the same age as her husband.

The two are reportedly college sweethearts and have been married for over three decades. Kim previously lived in Marina Del Rey, but now she resides with her husband in Encino.

The couple has five children: sons O’Shea Jackson Jr., Darrell Jackson, and Shareef Jackson, and daughters Karima Jackson and Deja Jackson.

His eldest son, O’Shea Jackson Jr., 32, portrayed him in the 2015 biographical Drama film Straight Outta Compton.

According to Family Tron, Darell, 30, is also an emerging rapper under the stage name “Doughboy,” which he borrowed from his dad’s name in Boyz in the Hood. 

Likewise, Karima, 29, is an Art alumnus of Montclair State University and works as an assistant at Rutgers University. She also founded the charitable Company “Organize Change, Inc.”

Meet The Ice Cube Family

O’Shea Jackson Sr., a.k.a. Ice Cube, was born in Los Angeles, California, to his parents, Doris and Horsea Jackson.

His mother, Doris, was a hospital clerk, while his Father, Hosea, was a machinist and UCLA groundskeeper.

Born on June 15, 1969, Cube is currently 54, and his star sign is Gemini. 

He has an older brother, Beverly Jean Brown, and they had a half-sister named Clyde Jackson, who was murdered in her House when Cube was 12.

Cube attended George Washington Preparatory High School in Los Angeles and William Howard Taft High School in Woodland Hills. He started writing raps after being challenged by his friend named “Kiddo” in ninth grade. Kiddo lost.

After he wrote and recorded some locally successful rap songs with N.W.A., Cube moved to Arizona to join the Phoenix Institute of Technology in 1987.

With a diploma degree in architectural drafting, he returned to Los Angeles in 1988 and rejoined N.W.A. However, he kept a career in architecture drafting as a plan B.

Cube explains his stage name, saying that his brother, Beverly, threatened to bang him into a freezer and pull him out when he was an ice cube. He began using that name, and “it just caught on.”
