Josh Acoff, better known by his stage name DJ Acoff, is a celebrity DJ, host, and actor who has built a fan base of thousands over a short period of time. Acoff has created a brand that is undeniable and has landed him some major roles. He has been afforded the opportunity to host parties for NFL Players such Andre Kates of the Baltimore Ravens, Clinton Portis of the Washington Redskins, Jameis Winston of the New Orleans Saints and Le’Veon Bell of the New York Jets. DJ Acoff has also hosted parties with some of today’s top rappers in the music world such as K Camp, Webbie, The Migos, Young Dro and many others. With a determined mind, he dreams to create a legacy as one of the most successful African American men of his generation. At the youthful age of 26 YEARS OLD, Joshua (Josh) is a native of Bessemer, AL There, he was one of twenty-one children to a big time drug dealer in the area, who was murdered when Josh was 5 years old. Josh knew that was not the path he wanted to take and he began to focus on his education. Upon completion of high school, he continued his education at the HBCU Alabama State University in Montgomery. It was during this time that his family faced hard times which caused him to return home to further his education at Stillman University. While at Stillman University his luck changed forever, when he received a refund check of $4K from Alabama State. Josh gave half of the money to his mom to help her and the other half he decided to invest in some DJ equipment. Josh later discovered the refund check was a mistake and that it had to be paid back. He was able to DJ parties to make the money back and pay back Alabama State University. Not only was he that good at DJ-ing—with no formal training—his skills and popularity garnered the attention of the student body which led to him being hired for more parties and events. Following his success in Alabama, Josh decided to transfer to Clark Atlanta University to expand his network and continue to build his brand. During this time he grew to be one of the biggest DJ’s in the South and began branching out into other business ventures like hosting red carpets. In 2014 DJ Acoff released his first mixtape entitled “The WERK” which garnered him notoriety throughout the music industry and he released his sophomore mixtape entitled “The Come Up”. To add to the resume, DJ Acoff landed the role of the “official DJ” for Sheen Magazine’s HBCU Tour and traveled to multiple HBCU colleges throughout the U.S. in 2015. Josh also had the privilege to be a presenter at the 2015 Kontrol your Destiny awards by Kontrol Magazine and he landed a featured role in the short film “A Lie that never was” produced by Courtney Irby all in 2015. Josh also landed a role in XXl: O’Day produced by Brandon Holland, and the Youtube series Barry Tales produced by Kartoon Management. Josh eventually relocated to Tampa, Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada, where he would continue to grow his record label “Riche Posse” and has worked with many artists across the country. Josh is currently working with 1017 Artist Development’s Mario Cummings as a 1017 Dj. He is in the process of starting his new EP series which will feature multiple upcoming artists across the country. Josh plans to continue to expand his brand into more acting and hosting jobs and to continue to build an empire to supersede his legacy. This has been a page in the life of one determined man.
