FCT, Abuja - The federal government of Nigeria on Saturday, October 7, announced the indefinite suspension of the N-Power programme.
Legit.ng reports that the N-Power scheme used to be under the ministry of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development.

FG suspends N-Power scheme indefinitely
Betta Edu, the incumbent minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty Alleviation, announced the suspension during an interview with Television Continental (TVC).

Government suspends N-Power
In an earlier report, Legit.ng reported that the federal government announced the indefinite suspension of its N-Power scheme.
Minister Edu explained that one of the key concerns was the issue of beneficiaries who were not fulfilling their work obligations at their designated locations but still expected to receive monthly stipends.

N-Power beneficiaries cry out to Tinubu
Legit.ng also reported that Batch "C" N-Power beneficiaries cried out to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over non-payment of allowances for the past eight months.
An N-Power beneficiary, Gbadebo Adesiyan, said that the non-payment of stipends has caused immense hardship to millions of unemployed graduates captured under the scheme.
N-Power handlers give update on payment
In another related news, Legit.ng reported that the FG, through the National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) said payment of backlogs is gradually being made for N-Power batch C2 beneficiaries.
According to NASIMS, although backlog payments for eligible N-Power beneficiaries have been approved and initiated, it is gradual.
