Before working for ESPN, Nix was a sports anchor and reporter at WHDH-TV (NBC) in Boston for three years (2003-06). She also worked for FOX Sports and New England Sports Network.

Nix began her career at ESPN from 2006 as a TV host, covering college and pro football games.

In 2009, she became the first woman to host the Walter Camp Football Foundation All-American Awards dinner in 2009.

Additionally, Nix co-hosted Sunday NFL Countdown for three complete seasons and was the host of the weekly Chalk Talk events for ESPN’s prime-time Monday Night Football.

Despite having a perfect professional life, the ESPN anchor has endured an unstable personal life. She married (date undisclosed) Ben Cherington, a former general manager of Boston Red Sox.

They started dating each other when Wendi was still studying at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
