The Season 2 premiere of Ingobernable is one day away, but fans of the Netflix Spanish show are already asking for details surrounding Season 3. Like, will there even be another season of the Mexican series — and when will it be released? 

Ingobernable, which translated into English means ungovernable, follows Emilia Urquiza, played by Kate del Castillo (of El Chapo fame), as she tries to prove she is not responsible for the murder of her husband and Mexican president Diego Nava (Erik Hayser). She turns to Canek (Alberto Guerra) and his team of hackers and misfits, to find out who is responsible for the assassination — while avoiding the government who is also on a full-blown manhunt for her.

Netflix has yet to announce a release date, but seeing how quickly it renewed the show for a second season, we won't be surprised if Ingobernable gets renewed again. "Emilia Urquiza will become a true revolutionary leader," the company said of Season 2 in a press release. "She will come to the realization that corruption is not only found in her country, but also within her own family. This awakening will be linked to a long quest to save her daughter María while still discovering what is really behind the Urquiza legacy."

Super casual. So, seeing as Season 1 premiered in March 2017, Netflix viewers can probably expect Season 3 to air in a similar timeframe — early 2020. 

As expected, fans are already counting down the days. "Y’all need to watch Ingobernable on Netflix... s--t is so real I done re-watched it three times in the last year and the new season coming back on Sept. 14. (It’s in Spanish) but they have Closed Captions in English," one viewer tweeted before another added, "My relatives recommended @katedelcastillo's Ingobernable Loved it I'm expecting season 2,3,4,5.. ok? Thank you!" Same, girl, same. 

Season 1 finale spoilers: 

Where did we leave off when we last spotted Emilia? Well, Season 2 will likely pick up with our protagonist — it was revealed that Diego's real killer was his bodyguard — facing off against her father, who wants to kill her to save his other daughter, María. In Mexico, a military strike is ordered on the barrio and riots break out against the army. 

Remember, Emilia still does not know about her father's involvement in her husband's death and her daughter's kidnapping. Audiences should also expect an answer to who the mystery woman, spotted in the final episodes who is seemingly in charge of the whole plot, really is.  We don't know what happens next, but we have a feeling Canek, who returned to Tepito, will be back to save the day. 

Kate del Castillo on her Netflix return:

While filming the first season of the show, all her scenes in Mexico were filmed by her stunt double. The 45-year-old actress was in hiding in LA after the Mexican government accused her of laundering money for El Chapo. This time around, Kate is in a much better place. "The analogy and all the things that were happening to me…it was very emotional. It was traumatic," she told Remezcla before comparing herself to her character. "She goes through a lot in this second season. She’s gonna go through so much pain, and not only emotionally but physical pain. Of course something has to change inside of her, and she’s only getting stronger and stronger."

Kate continued, "I want to see her as President! I want to see her go there, with her brains and with her hard work, with her integrity. We’ll see. I have no idea where it’s going, if there’s a third season. But I hope there is and I hope she gets to be President. Hell yeah, why not?"

If that's not a storyline for Season 3, we don't know what is.
